Hate Crimes

If these two pranksters are charged with hate crimes, most certainly the pieces of pig filth trash that raped and murdered Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom in Knoxville, TN should have been charged with hate crimes, but they weren’t.  Imagine that…

University of Missouri police yesterday arrested two white male students suspected of dropping cotton balls in front of the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center on campus.

Zachary Tucker, 21, and Sean Fitzgerald, 19, were arrested about 7:30 p.m., each on suspicion of one count of tampering in the second degree, a Class D felony enhanced because of the hate crime classification. They each posted $4,500 bond and were released from the Boone County Jail, with a date to return to court set for March 29.

Tucker is listed as a senior psychology major in an MU directory and is from St. Louis. Fitzgerald is a freshman political science major from Kearney and is listed as an NROTC midshipman.

Chancellor Brady Deaton has temporarily suspended the students, saying he “determined it is in the best interest of the university community.” Further action will depend on the outcome of a formal student conduct process.

MU police were called to the black culture center Friday morning after students and staff awoke to find cotton balls strewn across the lawn. The racist act, an overt reminder of slavery, came on one of the last days of Black History Month.

Samson Ojo, 24, is charged with rape and kidnapping after police say he attacked a woman inside a movie theater on Sunday.

A 21-year old woman said Ojo followed her to the bathroom and forced her into an empty theater where the sexual assault took place. “It’s not good, it’s horrible feeling like this,” said the alleged victim during an exclusive interview with FOX 8.

Police said Ojo was at the Cinemark Theater on Lexington-Springmill Road with his wife and step-children. Chief Smith said Ojo made eye contact with his alleged victim before he followed her out of one theater and pulled her into an empty theater.

Police say the suspect’s wife was very cooperative and confirmed that her husband left the theater more than once and she tried to call him on his cell phone. “The thing that makes me the most sick about it, is that he went and sat back down like nothing had happened,” said the 21-year old woman.

I guess the big problem with the whole Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom case NOT being a hate crime is that neither of the victims lived long enough to tell anyone that they had been called bad names.

A white homeless man was charged today with a hate crime after allegedly threatening a black teenager outside a drug store.

Ronald Allen Bramlett, 55, was charged with felony counts of aggravated assault and criminal threats. He also faces sentencing enhancements and allegations for hate crimes, the personal use of a deadly weapon and prior convictions for a 1994 bank robbery in Oregon and a petty theft in 2001, according to Susan Kang Schroeder, a spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

The victim and his friends were standing in front of a CVS pharmacy at 1835 Newport Blvd. when Bramlett allegedly made racial slurs, Schroeder said. Bramlett allegedly claimed to be a member of a white supremacist gang and allegedly told the teenager he didn’t have a right to look at him.

Bramlett was also accused of challenging the boy to a fight while waving a knife and threatening “to cut you up, boy,” according to Schroeder.

Bramlett faces up to 18 years and eight months in prison if convicted.
